      REFLECTIONS

      EXPERIENCE

Overall, I would say VSP has been very fun as I am very passionate about filming and editing videos. It is as though I am just carrying out my hobby for this module minus the deadlines. The only thing that I am quite disappointed about is the number of public holidays that fall on a Monday which also happens to be when VSP class is conducted. Not only that, there were no replacement classes so I felt that I became less disciplined in keeping up to date with all the pending tasks. As a result, towards the end of the semester, I had no choice but to ask Mr.Martin for an extension as there was just so much to do but so limited time.

      OBSERVATIONS

I observed that I preferred editing my own videos rather than the ones which Mr. Martin provided. Initially, I thought that I liked editing videos in general regardless of whether it be other people's videos or mine but after going through this module, I was wrong. Next, I observed that I was more familiar with the DSLR now than before and could compare its differences with my mirrorless camera.  Using a heavy-duty tripod for filming provided a guide for me when I was buying one at the store. For example, knew what I wanted in a tripod, what material, and what type of features I would want in one which led to me not buying one that I will regret later on.

      FINDINGS

I found that sound design is just as important as visuals. It helps set the tone of the scene as well as the entire movie. Next, storyboarding before filming a video saves a lot of time in trying to picture how the scene would look on the shooting day itself and helps the videographer achieve a more calm and clearer mindset instead of stressing over trying to figure out everything on the spot. Lastly, I found that a good lecturer is always very understanding towards a student's struggles during the study course and is there to help whenever a student needs it. I truly believe that Mr. Martin is the lecturer that was described above and is also the reason I am able to push through the semester. Thank you sir.
